QUEST OF THE DIASPORA
African Pursuit is a game that traces the journey of the African diaspora from pre - to post colonisation in Africa and the Americas.

The game includes excerpts drawn from well - loved stories and poems, autobiographies and other non-fiction genres to introduce themes of imperialism, resistance and language that run through the history of the diaspora.

The 300 questions are designed to be fully inclusive, offering a variety of multiple choice, 'unscramble' and spelling questions to make the game enjoyable for all abilities. Some seriously difficult questions have been deliberately included just for the fun factor!
Who is it for?
African Pursuit is intended to equip parents, carers and other interested parties to introduce aspects of imperial history to young people so that they are prepared for what they will receive in schools. It aims to present the story of the African diaspora truthfully, but with the sensitivity that is needed for young learners. Graphic descriptions and commentary often found in detailed studies of the history have, therefore, been deliberately omitted, while the focus that is often overlooked in teaching resources - that of resistance as opposed to mere passivity - is restored.

African Pursuit is designed to encourage active learning and can enrich teaching and learning at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, as well as for adults! It is suitable for players aged 11 and upwards and designed to be played at home as well as in the classroom with two players or more. For a more competitive experience, it can be played in teams for which team shirts are available!
